In 2011 Bob set up Mibin Ltd to develop an idea for a compartmentalised wheelie bin conceived by his friend Myles O Shaughnessy who is a shareholder in the company. The current design and patent which was developed with the Sligo Institute of Technology and the Limerick Institute of Technology. To date the design has been selected as a finalist by CIWM (Chartered Institute of Waste Management) Sustainability and Resource Awards 2016, EPRO (European Association of Plastics Recycling and Recovery Organisation) Best Recycled Plastics Design Award 2017 and MRW 2018 National Recycling Awards.
Jim Kells

Jim has been a part of the MI-BIN project since 2009 and has provided up to date industry information and technical advice during the development process of the product. A successful business man in his own right he is widely respected throughout the industry both in Ireland and abroad.
A former school principal Jim started his first company Midland Refuse Services in 1986 and was the first to import and provide wheelie bins in Ireland. Jim sold the company to AES in 2001 and remained a director until 2003.
He started Midland Environmental Services in 1996 which is the largest provider of waste and recycling products in Ireland. Jim is the MD of MES.
In 1990 he was a founder member the IWMA (Irish Waste Management Association) which was set up to improve waste collection and recycling in the Republic of Ireland. Jim was chairman of the IWMA for over 20 years and has worked with all stakeholders on waste and recycling policy during that time.

Mark is the chief technology advisor to MI-BIN. With over 20 years experience in the Irish and UK software industry, he is a specialist in the web and digital space and has worked on numerous corporate level mission critical level projects for clients such as Nissan Ireland, Pearsons Education UK, Bank of Ireland, Ryanair, Tesco Mobile, Dixons Carphonewarehouse and Kingspan.
